Day One at Grafham
Well after the late pick-up from school we arrived safely at 10am (still earlier than expected). After a quick welcome and a tour of the site the children tucked into lunch. After this it was moving into bedroom time and the challenge of the duvet cover and pillow case. This was a challenge that all the children rose to and I am sure that they will sleep in, under or on top of the bedding!
After lunch we all took part in our first activity. Whilst one group cycled until dark, two others made shelters and honed their archery skills. Sailing went well and even the children that were not keen on getting into the boats did and loved it. The powerboats were a particular success. High ropes was also very successful with children all climbing higher than they had expected to.
After the activities had all finished the children showered (mostly) and and got ready for dinner. After all the exertions of the afternoon everyone ate well and then got into their onesies and PJ's. A game of Splat a hot chocolate and after sharing their favourite teddy that they had brought, we are now ready for bed.
Hopefully we will post some photos tomorrow to show some of the activities.
